TIA ISA WANTS A CAR
(Candlewick Press) publication date forthcoming Bilingual picture book. A young girl helps her aunt buy a car -- a perfect, shiny-green, used car with a bad radio and no air conditioning, but it will get them to the beach just fine. Just sold to Candlewick Press: The Girl Who Could Silence the Wind (tentative title) about a teenager in the poor mining community of Tres Montes. Sonia is believed to have special powers, though she secretly knows the truth about the mythology. In the works: Stay tuned. I am currently working on my second picture book and my next middle grade novel, Jorge and the Sea Ghost.
